Measures approximately 24 - 7/16" from tip of kissaki to munemachi. Classic shinogi zukuri form with a lazy midare hamon; no visible hada. Iori mune, somewhat steeper than normal. Gilt copper habaki. Nakago with an unusual nakagojiri that looks like kengyo with a flat tip. 2 mekugi-ana, overlaid, and looks to have been opened up additionally in the period, possibly a remount that didn't require an additional hole. Painted characters on left side of the blade, indistinct. Mounts are standard floral-and-roe patterns, with chrysanthemum menuki. Extra leather strip has been added to kashira to have snap that matches anchor on the saya. Saya wrapped in leather with single ashi showing. CONDITION: Sword is out of polish, with surface scratches and spotted oxidation, with more scratches toward habaki. Mounts are very good with some darkening from age and hand rubbing. Leather is very good with crazing and handling marks but strong.
