Measures approximately 18 - 11/16" from tip of kissaki to munemachi; habaki is frozen, preventing a precise measurement. Classic shogi zukuri form with yokote missing (probably polished out). Polish obscures finer aspects of the blade but hamon looks like a fairly active gunome midare, no visible hada. Nakago, mumei, with 2 mekugi-ana, kiri yasurime, and kurijiri nakagojiri. World War II mounts with standard floral-and-roe pattern with chrysanthemum menuki. Leather strip added to fuchi with a snap for affixing the retaining strap. Leather covered saya with single hanger and retained by 2 snaps. Foul leather cover made contemporarily. CONDITION: Blade is out of polish but with some ware and shintetsu and surface scratches from amateur polish. Mounts are good with some age related discoration but complete. Saya is very good, foul weather cover is fine as new. EMW
