Traditional configuration of the shin gunto issued to NCOs with a single full length fuller, marked with a serial number (100420) behind the fuller, above the habaki, with black tsuba, and fuchi, while tsuka is aluminum with painted sections intended to replicate the ito. Saya with single hanger, numbered on mouth, matching blade. CONDITION: Very good, blade has been polished over some areas of pitting, with spotting remaining throughout the length of the blade. Microscratches are visible throughout the length of the blade from polishing. Cast aluminum tsuka is tight and solid. Saya is very good but has been repainted, with some pitting visible underneath the newer layer of paint and areas of rubbing around the hanger ring. This is a good sword for the beginning shin gunto enthusiast. EMW
