Measures 24 - 13/16" from tip of kissaki to munemachi. Iori mune. Classic shinogi-zukuri form with low shinogi. Nakago with 2 drilled mekugi-ana, ha agari kurijiri nakagojiri. Dated on left side for a date in January, 1945, right side for smith. Characters are difficult to read, first character looks like Mori. Brass habaki. Tsuba looks to be a later casting as the details are not as crisp as they normally are. Fuchi, kashira, koijiri, koiguchi, ashi, and semegane are in the traditional floral-over-roe pattern. Green painted saya. CONDITION: Blade is out of polish with surface scratches but is free of pitting or breaks. Mounts are good, fuchi and kashira with gilt in protected areas, primarily displaying copper base. Same panels have a couple of cracks. Saya is good with evidence of Green painting but well over half has been scrapes away or chipps. Koijiri, koiguchi, semegane, and ashi en suite with fuchi and kashira. EMW
