German Pre-War Mauser "S/42" code 1937 dated P.08 Luger semi automatic pistol. Made 1937 at the Mauser Oberndorf factory. "1937" marked chamber, with "S/42" marked toggle. "(eagle)/63" proofs on the right side of the chamber. No import marks found. Matching serials on the visible numbered components. Standard blade front sight and v-notch rear. Metal components were nicely refinished at some point. Checkered wood grips are not numbered. Left panel has an "(eagle)/655" stamp and a single "H", "Q" stamped. Right grip panel is a replacement. Includes a numbered (not matching) aluminum bottom "fxo" code magazine. "(eagle)/37" codes on the left side as well. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its finish with general wear. Grips are fine with crisp checkering. Bore is very lightly frosted, but retains sharp rifling. Mechanically fine. Magazine is very good, with little wear to the body. The bottom has some cleaned pitting. JWA
