Measures 21" from kissaki to munemaki. Ubu nakago with singled punched mekugi-ana with katte sagari yasurime and ha agari kurijiri. Classic shinogi zukuri blade with chu kissaki and shallow sori. Iori mune. Polish obscures some aspects of the blade, but hamon looks to be midare and the hada looks to be itame. Mounts are kai gunto with standard "ray" tsuba, floral fuchi with roe pattern, menuki in the form of chrysanthemums, sarute of a more recent vintage, cast with florals and roe pattern, kashira with roe pattern. Kojiri, koiguchi, semegane, and ashi with florals and roe pattern, black painted saya. CONDITION: Blade is good with an amateur polish obscuring some finer deails of the blade, with some ware. 2 spots of fukure near habaki, one has not yet "burst". Some nicks on the back of the blade that look like they might be kirikomi. Mounts are very good, saya has some separation of front and rear edges and some handling marks. Tsuka ito is tight. A good polish would be very helpful for this sword. EMW
