1884 vintage Colt Etched Panel Frontier Six Shooter single action revolver, serial number 105128. 7 - 1/2" round barrel with single line Colt Hartford, CT barrel address, blade front sight, and frame notch rear. Desirable Etched Panel on left side reading "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER". Correct, low profile oval ejector rod head with beryllium copper ejector rod spring. Matching serial numbers found on cylinder, barrel underneath ejector rod housing, frame, trigger guard, and butt. "44" caliber marking on underside of barrel near centerpin. "H" inspector marking just above firing pin hole on frame. 1-piece original plain walnut grips. Accompanying this revolver is a factory letter confirming configuration as well as shipment to Simmons Hardware Company in St. Louis, Missouri September 26, 1885 in a shipment of 10 guns. CONDITION: Excellent for its age, retaining an attractive amount of the original bluing overall with areas of wear on left side of barrel and ejector rod housing appropriate for holster wear and a speckled brown-grey patina beginning to form over top of the bluing. Etched panel is complete and easily legible. Trigger guard and backstrap show wear from handling but retain beautiful original bluing in protected areas. Cylinder is in matching condition with a dragline. Frame is beginning to turn a grey patina with generous amounts of bright original case colors in protected areas. Screws and centerpin retain their original nitre bluing. Grips fit well with minor finish loss at high edge near butt. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is overall bright and lightly frosted with minor abrasion near muzzle from use with corrosive black powder cartridges. A high condition, desirable Colt Frontier Six Shooter. TON
