1861 vintage Colt Model 1860 single action percussion revolver, serial number 13339. 8" round barrel in .44 caliber with single line Colt New York barrel address, German silver blade front sight, and hammer notch rear. 4-screw frame cut for shoulder stock with flat head hammer screw. Matching serial numbers observed on wedge, barrel, cylinder arbor, cylinder, frame, trigger guard, and butt. Brass trigger guard with blued backstrap. Single piece plain walnut grips with "OWA" (O. W. Ainsworth) cartouche in an oval with "A" Ainsworth inspection stamps on cylinder (both rebated and non-rebated portions), and both sides of barrel near forcing cone. "T" inspector stamp on butt of grips, trigger guard near forestrap, and backstrap near hammer. CONDITION: Very good, with blued assemblies tuned a pleasing dove grey patina overall with noticeable amounts of bright original bluing in protected areas. Backstrap retains bright original bluing throughout mixing with patina. Frame and hammer retain traces of original case colors throughout. Brass trigger guard is bright. Grips fit well with cartouche legible and no major signs of distress. Action is tight and crisp with all 6 safety pins present. Bore is frosted with abrasion toward muzzle and visible rifling. TON
