1863 vintage Colt Model 1862 Police single action percussion revolver, serial number 25819. 6 - 1/2" round barrel in .36 caliber with cone front sight, single line Colt New York barrel address, and hammer notch rear. Fluted 5-shot cylinder. Silver-plated brass trigger guard and backstrap. Single piece plain walnut grips. CONDITION: Excellent for its age, with a majority of the original bluing remaining mixing with a brown patina and wear at high edges. Cylinder has a dragline but is overall in excellent condition consistent with the rest of the blued assemblies with all 5 safety pins intact. Frame and hammer retain bright case colors. Backstrap and trigger guard retain nearly all of their original silver plating with areas of high edge wear. Grips fit well and are strong with no major signs of distress. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is bright with sharp rifling and modest abrasion. TON
