Manufactured 1917. Half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight. Left side of slide marked with 2 line 2 block patent and address information in serif font with rampant Colt at rear, right side with "MODEL OF 1911. U S. ARMY" in serif font. "H" stamped at top of firing pin retaining plate channel. Barrel marked "P / H" oriented to read with muzzle up, "N" in front of lug. Dust cover marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" in serif font, with "GHS" proof above magazine release for Stewart, right side with serial number behind slide pin. Small parts consist of checkered relief milled slide release, checkered spurred hammer, checkered relief mill cut safety, short 1911 grip safety, long milled trigger, checkered magazine release, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. 2 piece walnut truncated diamond stocks. CONDITION: Good, retaining approximately half of the Colt factory bluing, mostly visible in protected and recessed areas, with brown patina coming through on high edges and slide. Legends are crisp and legible. Stocks are very good with heavy hand rubbing to checkering. Mechanically fine, bore is very good with strong rifling and frosting, mostly towards chamber. EMW
