Unusual 4 barrel percussion shotgun of unknown origin made with idea of eliminating the second gun and servant loader and most likely made circa 1840 to 1850. 4 12 gauge barrels with opposite ribs marked "REAL TWIST" in script with 1 hardwood loading rod with brass tips held on barrels with 3 iron ferrules. Barrels swivel when blued engraved trigger guard is slid backwards and hammers are at half-cock. Gun has 2 floral engraved unmarked back action percussion locks controlled by double triggers. Walnut checkered English grip straight stock with blued engraved over the comb steel buttplate. A very unique piece and possibly one of a kind. Comes with an August of 1976 issue of "American Rifleman" talking about 4-barrel guns and use. CONDITION: 95% remaining original damascus twist pattern on barrels. 90% fading case colors. 90% blue remaining on trigger guard and buttplate. Wood has been lightly cleaned with light handling marks. Shootable bores with great mechanics. A rare unusual gun with great condition. DLM
