Winchester Model 1894 lever action rifle. Made 1909. 2 line company address/patent dates on the left side of the barrel. "NICKEL STEEL BARREL/ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER" marked on the left side as well. Standard markings on the tang. Winchester proofs on the chamber and frame. Octagon barrel with blade front sight and correct smokeless 100 yard rifle sight. Factory blued finish on the metal components. Special order double set triggers. Smooth oil finished wood stock has been lightly refinished. Crescent metal butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish with some scratches and brown patina starting to form. Wood is excellent. Solid forearm with no visible cracks. Bore is lightly frosted, but retains strong rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
