Archival framed and matted typed letter by President Theodore Roosevelt. Site 6 1/2" x 6 3/4". Framed with an image of Roosevelt. Overall 23" x 15 1/2". Dated December 8, 1902 on White House letterhead. Letter is addressed to Edward North Buxton, Esq., Essex, England. Buxton was a British conservationist. The letter talks about TR's feelings about his "fondness of the wilderness". But at the same time "I certainly dis-believe more and more in butchery". Another example of TR's commitment to conservation and preservation. Roosevelt added a line in his own hand. CONDITION: Excellent. CG
