Lot consists of: (A) Purple Heart and Bronze Star medal grouping engraved to Henry A. Bell. The group includes a slot brooch, lock catch Purple Heart Medal, which has a thin style, Korean War era engraving and Bronze Star Medal with the same engraving style. Both medals have their ribbon bars and coffin cases, but the Purple Heart has a lapel pin that is marked "A.E. CO / Utica / N.Y." Due to the engraving style, Bell most likely served in the Korean or Vietnam Wars. His Purple Heart is registered with the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor and requires more research. CONDITION: Both medals are clean, and the Purple Heart has some stitching separation on the ribbon. Engravings remain crisp. Cases exhibit blemishes but display well. Overall very good. (B) World War II era Distinguished Service Cross and Purple Heart medal group. The group includes a slot brooch Purple Heart that is numbered "262027" on the lower left side complete with ribbon bar and rare "one line" coffin case. The Purple Heart and ribbon bar feature an oak leaf cluster. The DSC is a black slot brooch 1945 Robbins Co. contract medal. CONDITION: Both medals exhibit light tarnishing on the ribbons as well as scattered marks on the reverse. The case exhibits scattered blemishes but is overall clean. Overall very good.
