Lot consists of: (A) Korean War Purple Heart medal grouping attributed to James E. Moore by the dog tags hanging in the frame. The dog tags date to 1942-1943 and are accompanied by a Rex Products Purple Heart, numbered "284685" and various other service medals and ribbons. The Purple Heart has an oak leaf cluster and the Good Conduct Medal has four knots. Given the World War II dog tags, medals, and Korean War era Air Force decorations, it is safe to assume that Mr. Moore served During World War II in the Army Air Force and stayed in after the war as part of the newly established US Air Force. The medals are accompanied by a file of notes from the consigner and contain several pages from men with the name James E. Moore who were killed in action during the Korean War. This has been unconfirmed, as those men are listed as infantryman, and there are several candidates with the name James E. Moore who were killed during the Korean War. CONDITION: Medals remain clean, frame exhibits light handling marks. The medals are framed and would display nicely. Overall very good. (B) Framed slot brooch Silver Sar, Purple Heart, Air Medal, and Soldiers Medal. According to documents from the consigner, these medals were recovered from flood damaged structures during the clean up efforts after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. They are all unengraved and unnumbered. CONDITION: The medals reflect the story, as they are tarnished and lost most of their finish. There is a staining on the ribbons the medals exhibit water damage. Still a nice set that survived a hurricane. Overall fair. JLD
