Blackpowder frame with 3-line patent date. 1-piece plain walnut grips. Comes with factory letter confirming configuration as well as shipment to Hartley & Graham in New York, New York in a shipment of 50 guns August 5, 1881. Letter goes on to mention that "The records also contain a second listing for this serial number that indicates it was a .45 caliber with nickel finish. The barrel length and type of stocks were not listed. This revolver was included in a shipment of 200 guns to Wexell & Degress, with dealer locations in New York, New York and Mexico City, Mexico on July 16, 1881." Accompanying this revolver is a modern production hardwood case with blue velvet interior. CONDITION: Very Good as totally refinished with a vast majority of the reapplied bluing remaining with scattered handling and storage marks throughout. Grips are shy to frame with rounded corners and an indentation on left grip panel but no major visible cracks. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is frosted with visible rifling and modest abrasion. A revolver with an interesting history. TON
