Winchester Model 1892 lever action rifle. Made 1909. 2 line company address/patent dates on the barrel. "MODEL 1892/WINCHESTER/TRADE MARK" on the top of the tang. Winchester proofs on the barrel and frame. Round, steel barrel with blade front sight and buck horn rear. Full length magazine tube. Finishes on the barrel and frame look to be original, although a large portion of the finish on the barrel has been removed. Wood has a light oil finish. Crescent metal butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its original finish, with most being polished off and a brown patina forming in its place. Stock has a few minor handling marks and scratches. Forearm is solid with no cracks. Bore is frosted, with very good overall rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
