Type 14 semi-automatic pistol manufactured at the Kokubunji arsenal in April of 1941. The right side of the receiver bears the manufacturer symbols followed by the serial number, with the right side of the frame exhibiting the manufacture date of "16.4". Left side of receiver bears kanji stampings stipulating the model designation. All numbers are matching, including the magazine, with the exception of the firing pin, which is unnumbered. Left grip panel bears a hand-scribed "882". Safety lever has been replaced, and is of homemade fabrication. Accompanied by a rubberized canvas holster and takedown tool. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their original blue finish, exhibiting a few concentrated areas of wear and thinning from cycling of the action. Grip screws are in-the-white. Strawed components retain fair to good amounts of their original finish, with worn areas exhibiting spots of age related discoloration. Bore is bright, exhibiting what appears to be a small spot of oxidation and retains good rifling throughout. 2-piece serrated wood grips exhibit some scattered marks from handling and storage, but are otherwise fine. Holster is very good, showing some spots of light crazing and some minor handling marks. MLW
