US Model 1842 percussion pistol manufactured by H. Aston & Company of Middletown, CT and dated 1851. 8 - 1/2" round barrel in .54 caliber smoothbore with brass blade front sight. Barrel is marked "US / WM / P" on left side above woodline. 1 piece walnut stock with captured ramrod and brass mountings. Stock bears faint cartouches on left side opposite lock that appear to be "GW" and "WAT". CONDITION: Good, with iron assemblies turned an untouched brown-red patina with corrosion on high edges. Brass assemblies are a mellow patina. Stock is good as cleaned with no major cracks. Mechanically fine. Bore is dark with moderate abrasion. TON
