Ballard single shot action made by J.M. Marlin Firearms Company from 1878 to 1882 re-barreled by Geo. C. Schoyen, Denver, Colorado circa 1900. 30-1/2" browned octagonal barrel measuring 1 - 1/4" at the muzzle, caliber .22 LR with a bright bore. Lyman 77 Globe front sight, Fecker 16X telescope with perfect crosshairs and optics, little dusty with 1 - 5/8" objective lens. The barrel is marked "GEO. C. SCHOYEN DENVER, COLO." with no extra mounting holes and possibly original Schoyen browning. Professionally polished and blued Ballard pistol grip action with professionally jeweled double set trigger breechblock and with a 4-finger loop lever, fitted with a Lyman No. 2 tang peep. Custom vintage circa 1930's checkered deluxe American walnut pistol grip stock with cheekrest and hard rubber shotgun buttplate. Later addition, custom, non-checkered walnut forearm. CONDITION: 90% what appears to be original Schoyen browning with light edge wear. Action, buttstock, and forend have been professionally refurbished to new. Excellent bore and mechanics with perfect crosshairs with lenses being a little dusty. Description reviewed by Gary Quinlan. DLM/GWQ
