Winchester Model 1885 LoWall action fitted a with Stevens-Pope barrel. Caliber .22 LR, 26" No. 2 weight part octagon barrel marked "Stevens-Pope" over Stevens address, Pope Barrel number "1926", blade front sight, blank in rear sight seat. Blued pistol grip action with plain trigger, case hardened standard lever, fitted with a Lyman sporting tang sight. Extra fancy walnut, non-checkered pistol grip stock, fitted with a nickel-plated Winchester Swiss buttplate. Matching uncheckered forearm with ebony inlay. CONDITION: 95% barrel blue with light edge wear, 95% action blue with some light brown discoloration. 10% faded case color on the lever with nickel dulling to a silvery color on buttplate with some overlap of linseed oil, some stock shrinkage observed at wrist. 95% stock finish with some additional linseed oil added. Excellent bore and mechanics. A neat little Pope rifle. Cody Records indicate serial number was applied April 1, 1911, no other information available. Description reviewed by Gary Quinlan. DLM/GWQ
