Winchester Model 1885 deluxe Highwall Schuetzen rifle made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1905. Blued 28" half octagon No. 4 weight barrel, caliber .22 Short with front sight seat blank, fitted with telescope blocks, with one extra set of holes with filler screws. Winchester "A-5" telescope in Lyman micrometer mounts. Barrel is marked with Winchester address and caliber "22 SHORT" on top flat of barrel with caliber marking covered by rear scope block. Blued flat spring action with Schuetzen double set triggers, case hardened spur lever, and Winchester Address on tang. Deluxe walnut checkered pistol grip stock with Schuetzen cheekpiece, and Helm buttplate. Matching deluxe walnut checkered forearm with Winchester palm rest. Cody Research states No. 3 weight barrel, Winchester Vernier sights with no mention of telescope or palm rest. CONDITION: 95% barrel and action blue with some slight edge wear. Lever has 20% fading case colors. 90% original varnish with some light handling wear. Bright bore with light roughness just ahead of chamber and good mechanics with optics needing a professional cleaning. Round portion of barrel reblued sometime in the past.
