Winchester Model 1885 deluxe Highwall Schuetzen style single shot rifle made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in approximately 1911. Blued 30" No. 3 weight Winchester round barrel with Lyman adjustable wind gauge globe front sight, no rear seat, mounted with a Winchester "A-5" telescope in Winchester adjustable mounts. Winchester address and caliber marking, "32-40" are located left side barrel flat. Blued Winchester proofed takedown coil spring Highwall pistol grip action with Schuetzen double set triggers, standard Winchester double set lever, and fitted with a Winchester mid-range Vernier tang sight. Checkered pistol grip deluxe grade walnut Swiss-style stock with cheekpiece, pistol grip cap, and Helm buttplate. Matching deluxe walnut checkered forearm with ebony inlay. Cody Research has no information available, only that the serial number was applied on April 07, 1911. CONDITION: 95% original barrel blue with 90% action blue with wear on sharp edges and handling marks. 10% case on lever. Stock have had a coat of linseed oil added with some handling marks and dings.
