Winchester 1885 Highwall Schuetzen Model by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1909. Blued 28" No. 3 weight octagon Winchester barrel, Winchester Records state this rifle was shipped with a 30" No. 3 octagon barrel, with no sight seats and fitted with bases for a No.5 Winchester telescope. Caliber marking "22 SHORT" on left side barrel flat, with Winchester proof in front of rear telescope base. Blued takedown action with Schuetzen double set triggers and case hardened spur finger lever. Checkered pistol grip Laudensack pattern Schuetzen stock with cheekpiece, with Winchester hard rubber grip cap, and Laudensack Model buttplate. Deluxe checkered forearm, fitted with Winchester adjustable palm rest, and a factory installed A-5 telescope. CONDITION: 90% barrel blue with light edge wear. 90% thinning action blue with edges turning a plum patina and worn in handling areas. 90% original varnish with some light handling marks. Good shootable bore with good mechanics and usable, but slightly cloudy optics ( needs good cleaning). Description reviewed by Gary Quinlan. DLM/GWQ
