Winchester Model 1885 "Highwall" with very desirable coil spring takedown action built by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1911. This rifle has several special order features including a takedown action and possibly factory mounted telescope with Winchester's Address and caliber markings on the barrel's left side flat. Caliber .22 LONG R. 28" blued No. 3 weight octagon barrel mounted with Lyman 438 telescope and mounts, bead front sight, and a Winchester rear sight dovetail blank. Blued takedown coil spring single trigger action with standard lever. Winchester standard grade walnut stock with brass Swiss style buttplate. Matching Winchester forearm with ebony inlay. CONDITION: 95% original blue with light edge wear, some noticeable areas of patchy blue flaking. Action also exhibits a mixture of a silvery-brown patina with flaking, takedown ring retains 85% of its original bright blue. Buttstock professionally shortened with a 12 - 3/8" length of pull. Buttstock appears to have had a very light coat of finish added, matching forend with what appears to be an old sling swivel hole repair. Overall finish showing light usage marks and dings. Bottom of barrel is stamped "O.R. Cassidy" with the number "927". Excellent bright bore showing light signs of use, good mechanics with telescope needing a professional cleaning.
