Lot consists of: (A) West Point photo album/scrapbook that was compiled by Raymond S. Pratt Jr. who was a cadet at West Point during 1928-1931. The album contains 42 pages that are full of photographs, ephemera, clippings, artifacts, and documents all relating to a cadet's experience at West Point. The album begins with Pratt as a Yearling and includes ephemera such as song books, drill rosters, horse show tickets, menus, programs, event tickets, schedules, uniform cloth, and more. The photo content includes the campus, formations, parades, hikes, other cadets, various furloughs, and trips. Pratt served in both World War II and the Korean War. He held a variety of positions during his career including instructor at the Field Artillery School at Fort Sill Oklahoma, XO of the second Communications Regiment, and a member of the Military Advisor Group in Korea. He retired in 1956 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. CONDITION: The album remains intact with the pages exhibiting fraying at the corners. The photos and ephemera have been nicely preserved. Overall very good. (B) West Point photo Album kept by Miss Eleanor Davey, who's brother was a cadet at West Point from 1929-1932. Miss Davey filled the book with West Point related ephemera including 24 dance cards from cadet hops, ten Christmas cards, four Valentine's Day cards, newspaper articles, 43 photos, football game tickets, booklet for visiting young women titled "Week-end Pointers; A Handbook for Army Femmes", and various other ephemera. The photographs include pictures of Miss Davey's brother, cadet living quarters, formations, campus buildings, and more. Some of the photos and ephemera are labeled. There is an interesting caption written under Army vs Yale football tickets that reads "Sheridan had his neck broken". Research shows that Army cadet Richard Sheridan later died of this injury. Eleanor's brother Ralph H. Davey Jr. later graduated from West Point and was commissioned as an infantry lieutenant and was later transferred to the quartermaster corps. He retired as a colonel.
