Remington Model 1875 manufactured circa 1875-1889, serial number 690. 7 - 1/2" barrel chambered in .45 Colt with pinched screw in front sight and frame notch rear. Beautifully period engraved with New York style scrolls on a punchdot background and further embellished with wrigglework on ejector rod housing and near barrel address, crosshatching on both sides of frame near forcing cone, and sunbursts on either side of gas shield. Ring around muzzle with scroll on either side. Silver-plated base finish with gold washing over top. 2-piece plain ivory grips. CONDITION: Very good, with gold wash mostly worn to silver plating with traces of gold wash in protected areas and age-related handling marks throughout. Grips show some age-related shrinkage throughout and have a large chip at left grip panel near backstrap. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is frosted with crisp rifling. An attractive, professionally engraved Remington 1875 worthy of display. TON
