Colt Cavalry US marked Single Action Army revolver, serial number 119051. Ordnance inspected by David F. Clark, with his principal sub-inspector cartouche visible on right side of grip. The cartouche of Ordnance inspector Captain John G. Butler is present on left side of grip with 1887 inspection date. Serial number 119051 is observed on the frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Last four digits of serial number, "9051" is observed on the cylinder and breech of barrel, under the ejector rod housing. "D.F.C" is observed on barrel and frame. Proof mark "P" is observed on barrel and cylinder. The mysterious inspector stamp "G" as found on many D.F.C. inspected revolvers is observed on inside the hammer slot. Hammer is a replacement from a later, smokeless era civilian revolver. 1-piece walnut grips have been varnished. Assembly number "83" is observed on loading gate. CONDITION: Fine overall with 80-85% original military-style blue remaining. Strong original case color remaining on the frame. Grips are sound showing modest wear. Replacement hammer. Bore is bright and clean. Action is tight and crisp. Very nice unmolested screws. MKS
