Winchester 1873 2nd Model lever action rifle with saddle ring and full magazine showing evidence of Native American use with iron tack stock decoration and rawhide repairs. Gun has 19" round rifled unmarked barrel with full blued tubular magazine, sheared blade front sight and adjustable rear buckhorn sight missing elevator. Blued action with 2nd Model style 2-screw dust cover rail (missing dust cover) and late 1st Model lever latch with saddle ring. Walnut carbine style stock with trapdoor buttplate, broken at wrist and repaired with Native American style rawhide repair. Stock is decorated with iron tacks and has hole drilled through for rawhide sling. Walnut forearm with iron tack decoration and carved images. CONDITION: Gun shows heavy usage wear and repairs atypical to guns used by Native Americans. Metal edges are heavily worn from excessive use and carry. Dark pitted bore with sticky mechanics. A great representative of a Native American used rifle and if it could only talk. DLM
