German Reichsrevolver Model 1883 double action revolver. Made 1880s. No manufacturer marks, but was most likely made by Dreyse. These were sold on the commercial market, often to military officers. Front trigger acts like a cocking lever to fire in double action. No import mark found. Matching serials on the visible numbered parts, including the checkered wood grips. 2 stage, round/octagon barrel, large blade front sight, v-notch rear sight, as well as a rare ejector rod and ejector rod housing, which are both matching to the gun. Finish looks to be original with brown patina forming in areas. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its original finish with general wear and patina forming. Grips have solid checkering. The right panel is cracked on the inside. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Good timing and lockup. Mechanically fine. Hard to find with a bore this clean! JWA
