German Martini action Stalking rifle made by "G. BAUML, KEMPTEN" in caliber 8.14x46R. Barrel is marked "KRUPP, STREL" and under forearm "172,28" (date of proof) , "KRUPP ESS", "737", "10 09", and the standard "BUG" proofs. No serial number appears to be present, and no import marks. Octagonal blued matted 27" barrel has early front sight with post and is adjustable for windage. On the standard 11mm grooves is a removable target middle sight, which is adjustable for both elevation and windage. Flip-up tang mounted rear sight is adjustable for elevation. Receiver, trigger guard, and floor plate have case hardening and engraved with some checkering, floral pattern, stag, bird, and regular etching. High quality walnut stock has checkering on the grip and a nicely carved stag in the woods. Walnut forearm has some checkering and a carved pattern. Butt plate is serrated black plastic retained by engraved screws. Standard slings swivels are mounted on the barrel and stock. CONDITION: Rifle is overall excellent and retains 85-90% of its original blued finish and approximately 55% of its case hardening. Wood has very little noticeable wear and damage, and the top of the right side rear stock tang area has a 1" x 1/2" crack, which has been repaired. Bore is bright, set triggers function properly, and rifle is mechanically sound. WEZ
