A very nice brass conductor's lantern by Porter's Sons. Green over clear globe is beautifully engraved "Andrew Y. Beach Conductor Naugatuck R. R." in a floral cartouche. There are a few minor rim chips on the top and bottom edges. Lantern appears to have some solder repairs at the guard wire joints. Brass tag affixed to lid reflector has last patent date June 1871. Lantern looks to have been polished long ago, showing some tarnish, and was possibly nickel plated at one time, but with little evidence showing. Lid clasp works easily. Lantern is missing the oil fount and burner.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: 10" x 7 - 1/2" x 7 - 1/2".
