Lot consists of: (A) 1913 "RALLY ROUND' THE FLAG" by famous American poster illustrator Sidney Riesenberg. Printed in 1916, poster originally hung in a Philadelphia recruiting office. Graphics feature a Marine landing party coming ashore with a battleship visible in the background. Measures: 41" x 31." CONDITION: Nice colors with faint stress cracks to edges that can only be seen in certain lighting. (B) "U.S. MARINES SOLDIERS OF THE SEA" Sacramento, California recruiting station poster. Graphics feature pre-WW1 Marines in tropical uniforms with P1912 campaign hats carrying 1903 Springfield rifles. Measures: 41" x 31." CONDITION: Poster appears to be fixed to backing board to stabilize the fragile paper. Moderate damage to primarily bottom edge, with wear to all sides. Still presents well. BRM.
