Highly ornate German Drilling marketed by the firm of "E. SCHMIDT AND HABERMANN SUHL" as marked on the rib. Gun is proofed "3/28" and was made for this firm by unknown maker. Gun is pictured in Dietrich Apel's archives and is serial numbered "846". This gun is of the finest quality and is possibly the highest grade drilling available from this firm. Gun features blued 16x16x 9.3x72R "Special Gewehr Lauf Stahl" from Krupp Essen barrels with raised matted rib with bead blade front sight and 2 rear flip-up notch sights with front 1 raised when rifle option is selected. Barrels are nitro proofed with extractor and chisel engraved oak leaf pattern on bores and rib fitted with claw mounting system and have the sideclips on barrels instead of the usual action type. Beautiful coin finished full coverage engraved sidelock action with game scene pattern with oak leaf design with gold filled cocking indicators and Greener style safety and horn trigger guard and "ESHA" in front of trigger guard. Top tang rifle shotgun selector with double set triggers with front being a set trigger and in front of trigger guard is screw type button of unknown function. Figured European checkered walnut pistol grip stock with horn grip cap and buttplate, cheekpiece and oak leaf engraved bullet trap engraved with the phrase "Halik Bela". Ebony diamonds inlaid behind locks for decoration and strength. Walnut checkered splinter forearm with latch release and ebony tip inlay. A super high grade drilling. CONDITION: 95% barrel blue with bright coin finish on action. 95% original high gloss varnish with some small handling wear. Excellent bores and mechanics. A great drilling! DLM
