Circa 1905. A 16 gauge Lindner made game gun with 28" blued special 3-ring Krupp steel barrels. The barrels have 2 - 1/2" chambers and ejectors. The barrels are fit with a machined tapered concave rib with extension and have a brass front bead. The rib reads "CHARLES DALY DIAMOND QUALITY". Near the breeches of both barrels reads "Special Gewehr Lauf Stahl * Fried. Krupp * ESSEN" in a circle surrounding 3 interlocking rings. The underside of each barrel bears the mark "HAL" over crossed pistols - the mark of H A Lindner. Barrel flats bear appropriate German blackpowder proof marks and serial number of the gun "1136". Choked Improved Modified and Modified. The case color hardened finish scalloped boxlock action engraved with near full coverage tight scrolls. Action features a square cross bolt third fastener, checkered double triggers angled for left-hand shooter, side clips, cocking indicators, intercepting sears, engraved top lever with thumbpiece checkered on both sides, and automatic safety. Both sides of the action body are engraved "CHARLES DALY" in a banner. The bottom of the action body is engraved with a game scene of a tom turkey standing on a branch overlooking a hen with her chicks. The trigger guard is engraved with matching scrolls and a dog pointing with a short bottom tang engraved with scrolls and "1163". "SAFE" in gold ahead of the checkered slide safety. The actions water table reads "PRUSSIA" for the country of origin mark and "1163". A smoky reddish-brown European walnut straight hand stock with checkered stock panels, drop points, point pattern checkering, and horn buttplate. The splinter forend has a horn tip and engraved Deeley-style lever release. Exterior iron metal is scroll engraved. Interior iron metal is case color hardened and serial number is engraved. CONDITION: Very Good. Barrels retain 90% blue and bores are bright. Action is sound. Triggers are crisp and ejectors are in time. Stock and forend with minor handling marks. Horn buttplate with insect damage. Very nice gun. (CP)
