Factory engraved 1911 vintage Colt Single Action Army revolver, serial number 320820. Nickel with 5 - 1/2" barrel, chambered in .45 LC. Believed to be the work of Colt Master Engraver Cuno A. Helfricht, featuring classic Helfricht scroll work with dot backgrounds. Large foliate bloom on recoil shield and loading gate. Unique carved Eagle and Shield 2-piece Mother of Pearl grips. Accompanying revolver is a Colt archival letter dated October 29, 1987, signed by Marty S. Huber, Historian. Letter documents configuration, carved Eagle pearl grips, and factory engraving. Shipped to R. Kupferschmidt, Memphis Tennessee, For: A.N. Goldshield on December 14, 1911, in a single gun shipment. CONDITION: Near mint with 95+% bright original nickel overall. No drag line on cylinder, locks, or approaches. Bright cylinder chambers. Bore is bright and clean. Action is tight and crisp. Unmolested original nickel screws. Grips are excellent with a modest gouge on the left bottom panel and slight chipping at heal. Right panel has modest chipping at the heal and toe. The carved Eagle and Shield motif are excellent showing little wear. Overall a most handsome factory engraved pre-war single action that would be difficult tp improve on. MKS
