Rare pre-World War II Colt Single Action Army revolver chambered in .45 ACP, shipped in 1934, serial number 354935. Blue with case hardened frame and hammer with a 5 - 1/2" barrel and full thick front sight. 2-line patent dates and Rampant colt motif on left side of frame. 2-piece checkered black hard rubber grips. The cylinder chambers have short bores/shoulders and will not chamber the .45 LC cartridge. Accompanying the revolver are two Colt archival letters, one dated June 3, 1966 signed by R.H. Wagner and the second dated May 30, 1990 signed by Marty S. Huber. Both letters document the configuration and .45 ACP caliber. Shipped to Shapleigh Hardware Co. St. Louis Missouri on June 12, 1934 in a shipment of 2 guns of the same type. CONDITION: As previously stated this is a benchmark quality example with 95-97% bright original blue remaining and most all the original slightly fading case colors on the frame and hammer. Modest radial drag line on the cylinder. Bore is bright and clean. Action is tight and crisp. Grips are excellent+ showing minimum wear. Rare opportunity to acquire one of the best known SAAs in rare .45 ACP caliber. MKS
