Lightweight 8mm bolt action rifle made by "Franz Ernst, Nuremberg" with set triggers. Blued matted barrel is marked with the maker, "9264", "8 KG", and several other faint numbers which appear to have been on the original K98. While the serial number is "9264", the bolt retains its original K98 serial number of "9034", with a "34" present on other bolt parts, etc. Barrel has two sight bases for a double-claw scope mount, a dual leaf rear sight, and a single blade front sight. Floorplate, receiver, scope bases, has light engraving/checkering. Sling swivels are attached to stock and barrel. Fine quality walnut stock has checkered grip and forearm, with carved panels on each side. Trigger guard appears to be made from bone. Grip cap and butt stock are black plastic. CONDITION: Overall is excellent plus. Rifle retains 90-95% of its blued finish. Wood stock has no noticeable wear or damage. Bore is bright, set triggers function properly, and rifle is mechanically sound. WEZ
