Colt Government Model 1911A1 Commercial semi-automatic pistol. Made 1937. Right side of the slide is marked "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE.45" next to a rampant Colt pony. Left side is marked with the standard 2-line company address/patent dates. Right side of the frame is marked "GOVERNMENT MODEL / C187957". "VP" proofs on the left side of the trigger guard. Half-moon front sight and U-notch rear. Factory blued finish on the metal components. Checkered hammer and trigger. Checkered wood grips. Original 2-tone blued steel magazine marked "COLT/45 AUTO." on the bottom. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% or more of its original finish with some very light wear on the front strap. Grips are excellent with sharp checkering. Bore is lightly frosted with very good overall rifling. Mechanically fine. Magazine has light wear. JWA
