Winchester Model 1885 Hi-Wall single shot rifle. Made 1890. 2 line company address on the barrel. Chamber is marked "RIFLED BY H.M.POPE.HARTFORD.CONN". Patent dates and serial number on the bottom tang. Round heavy steel barrel with adjustable blade front sight, Case colored frame and lever. Barrel is factory blued. Smooth oil finished wood stock and forearm having been lightly refinished at some point. Later production Swiss style butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% of its original finish with light wear. Frame has some light patina and tarnish on the left side. Wood is very good overall. Forearm is missing its attachment for a palm block. Bore is clean overall with strong rifling. Mechanically fine.
