Beautiful bisque socket head (1 ½” line from side crown in front of right ear, short line at corner of right eye both look more like factory firing lines than later hairlines) marked 4 by Emile Jumeau, feathered light brown eyebrows, blue/gray paperweight eyes with dark rim around the iris, painted upper and lower eyelashes, closed mouth with lip shading line, pierced ears with earrings, cork pate, strawberry blonde mohair wig, bisque shoulder plate on original perfect gusseted French white kid body. Unbelievably stunning couture gown, probably from the Jumeau workshops, of turquoise silk and white lace-trimmed organdy with fitted bodice, ruffled skirt with train and silk drape across front of dress and gathered at back, layers of white cotton underwear, stockings and turquoise leather boots (some wear on boots). Wonderful presentation. From the Madeline Merrill collection and shown in her book "The Art of Dolls", page 203.
