An extensive grouping consisting of 99 black and white glass slides for a magic lantern projector by T.H. McAllister, with a few from other makers. Slides measure 3 - 1/4" x 4" and have paper borders. All slides feature scenes related to the American Civil War, including many famous battlefield photographs and period images, in addition to post war views of Civil War sights and memorials. An additional red slide is also included. Slides are labeled and housed in slotted case, which holds them securely. CONDITION: Very good. Some wear to paper edges but no cracks or notable chips to slides. One slide has separated. Many slides have added label stickers and are marked in pen on original labels. Case shows some wear but remains serviceable. BAS
