Swiss single shot rifle in .270 Remington made by "W. GLASER ARMES S.A. ZURICH". Blued squared to tapered round matted barrel has the serial number of "1277" and is marked "FLOYD S. ADAMS", who was the original owner and commissioned this unique rifle. Rifle was built before import stamp requirements and no import marks are present. Barrel with checkered, ramped, hooded, bladed front sight. Barrel nicely appointed with machine filed spear point rib, floral engraved tip and is fit with a single standing cross cut checkered rear sight. Rib is engraved reading "W. GLASER ARMES S.A. ZURICH". ".270" is stamped on left side of barrel just ahead and below standing rear sight. The finely engraved receiver is marked "HEEREN SYSTEM, W. GLASER" and depicts wildlife scenes and floral (oakleaf) patterns. Trigger guard is serrated and engraved with matching oak leaves. Action opens and cocks by pushing forward and pulling on the blued release which is affixed to the trigger guard. This sets the front trigger. The small blued lever on right side of action is the firearms safety. The European walnut stock in scarce Mannlicher-style is finely checkered and there is what appears to be a black horn serrated butt plate and horn tip. Stock is also furnished with a nicely cut shadow line cheek piece. Pistol hand grip is finished by what appears to be a horn cap. European-style sling is attached to the sling swivels on the forearm and stock. CONDITION: Overall excellent. Barrel retains approximately 95% of its blued finish. Coin finished receiver and trigger guard are excellent. Unusual set triggers function properly. Bore is bright, and rifle is mechanically sound. WEZ/JH/CP
