Stevens Ideal "Walnut Hill" single shot rifle. Made circa late 1920's. Barrel is marked "STEVENS WALNUT HILL" between the scope blocks. Two line company address on the barrel. Company trade mark on the left side of the frame. Round, steel barrel with case colored scope blocks added. Original globe front sight and Lyman rear adjustable peep. Barrel is blued, while the frame and lever are case colored. Oil finished walnut stock and forearm. Serrated flat steel butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its original finish with general wear and a few handling marks. Threads on the rear sight aperture are stripped. Wood has a few scuffs and scratches, being excellent overall. Graying bore with strong rifling retained. Mechanically fine. JWA
