Circa 1965. Made in Belgium by FN a semi-automatic rifle fit with a 19" round blued steel barrel chambered for the .22 LR cartridge. Barrel is built with an adjustable folding leaf rear sight and dovetail gold tip bead front sight. Top of the barrel is marked "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST LOUIS MO & MONTREAL P.Q. MADE IN BELGIUM". Right side of the barrel is marked "BROWNING's PATENTS" while the left side is marked "22 LONG RIFLE". The rifle's serial number "5T14846 is on the bottom of the barrel near the forearm. French grey receiver with cross-bolt safety and single smooth gold plated trigger is adorned with engraving consisting of game scenes and foliate accents. Right side features a vignette of 2 Squirrels in a woodland scene, left side is vignette of a 2 Groundhogs in a woodland scene and the top a Mallard taking off from a marsh scene with the initials "JL" below. Top of the receiver has the Belgian proof perron mark at the rear ahead of stock. Trigger guard bow also has light scrolls. Breechblock with Belgian proof marks. Deluxe high gloss walnut pistol grip stock has 2 checkered panels and a blued steel serrated buttplate. Beavertail forearm similarly finished with matching checkering. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain approximately 99% original blue. Bores are bright at shiny. Stock and forearm with minor use/storage marks. Original factory box in good condition. (CP)
