An early brown Damascus steel barrel with 31" barrels. Barrels are fit with a wide smooth top rib and a small steel front bead sight. Rib nicely engraved with floral scrolls and "SPANG & WALLACE PHILEDELPHIA" in ribbon. Under rib is furnished with wooden ramrod with brass ends. Action is built with double hammers and double triggers. Island locks are floral engraved and read "SPANG & WALLACE" at top. Top strap is floral engraved. Browned trigger guard with floral scroll and long bottom strap also with light scroll. Nicely figured reddish brown stock with checkered English straight hand grip, trap door on toe line and steel butt plate that extends over the toe and on to the comb. Forearm with cross pin release and pineapple shaped engraved escutcheon. Forearm with artistic engraved ornament near trigger guard. CONDITON: Good. Barrels with lots of remaining brown with some indentations. Action and triggers are sound. Stock and forearm with handling marks from use and age. CP
