Chilean Contract Mauser Model 1895 bolt action rifle. Made at Ludwig Loewe circa 1895-96. Sharp crest on the chamber. No import mark found. Matching serials on all the numbered components, including the rear sight and cleaning rod! Blued finish on the metal components, with the bolt being polished. Stock has a smooth oil finish, and was lightly sanded (possibly done at the arsenal). Smooth metal butt plate. Includes attached generic leather sling. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its finish with some light edge wear and handling marks. Strong fire blue visible on the floor plate and bolt release. Wood is excellent with a few handling marks and scratches. Bore has some light graying in the grooves, but rifling remains crisp. Mechanically fine. Sling has light wear. JWA
