Lot consists of (A) Winchester Model 1906 slide action rifle. Standard take down model made 1907. Standard company address and patent dates on the top of the barrel. Matching serials on the frame and tang. Blade front sight with factory v-notch rear. Factory blued finish forming a brown patina in most areas. Wood stock and forearm have been sanded and varnished. Hard rubber butt plate is cracked and missing the lower 1/3rd. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its original finish with some good blue showing through brown patina. Some varnish is coving the tang (stock was most likely refinished with the tang on). Wood has handling marks, dents and scratches. No visible cracks in the forearm. Bore has a few minor pits, but has a somewhat bright surface. Very good rifling retained. Mechanically fine. (B) Winchester Model 1906 slide action rifle. Standard take down model made 1910. Standard company address and patent dates on the top of the barrel. Matching serials on the frame and tang. Winchester proofs on the barrel and frame. Blade front sight with factory v-notch rear. Factory blued finish forming a brown patina in most areas. Wood stock and forearm have been sanded and varnished. Checkered hard rubber butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its finish with most areas forming a brown/gray patina. Stock and forearm have handling marks and scratches. No visible cracks in the forearm. Bore is frosted and has a few minor pits. Good overall rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
