Winchester Model 1892 lever action rifle. Made 1910. Left side of the barrel is marked "-MODEL 92-WINCHESTER-25-20 W.C.F./TRADE MARK", while the right is marked with the company address. Model number and patents marked on the tang. Winchester proofs on the barrel and frame. Octagon, steel barrel with blade front sight and buck horn style v-notch rear. Original finish on the metal components. Wood has a reapplied varnished finish. Crescent metal butt plate. CONDITION: Frame retains little of its original finish, forming a brown patina in most areas. Barrel rates much higher at 75%. Wood has some finish wear, in addition to some handling marks and scratches. Bore is clean overall with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
