Ballard "No. 2" Sporting Rifle made by the J.M. Marlin Firearms Company, New Haven, Connecticut from 1876 to 1891. 30" blued No. 2 octagon barrel with German silver blade front sight and notched rear adjustable sight with barrel marked with caliber "38 LONG". Case hardened single trigger frame with standard lever, marked with Marlin address. Straight plain walnut stock with crescent steel buttplate and matching standard walnut forearm. CONDITION: 90% fading original blue with corner wear. 90% original vivid case colors with some slight discoloration and areas of light pitting. 90% original varnish with handling and usage marks. Good shootable bore with strong mechanics. DLM
